Jack McCarthy Early Days 

Jack McCarthy has always loved his music. His friend was making an EP before Jack decided to get into the music business.

In junior year of high school, Jack would write a couple of pieces for videos in Video Productions Class. The pieces were Spaceman Travels with the Devil and Dismal Sounds Theme Song/The Crazy World of Love and Jack would write The Life of a Cowboy in Desert Suns at his dad’s office and by this point, he decided to make an album. He composed a piece by just jamming on the piano. He was practicing the coda of Hey Jude and used the chords of the coda to use in his piece which became The Pattern Song which appeared on Spaceman Travels With The Devil. but before he released it, he changed the name of the band before then.

When I wanted my music to be released, I did not want to use my actual name since I had never released my own music before. I decided to abbreviate my name and go as JM. The next album would feature a mix of church hymns that I formed together as a suite. As an added bonus, I added a recording of me performing during Solo and Ensemble which appeared on the album Hymn Suite.

My Life in Laughville was me starting to write a full album. I was going to use my keyboard to record all the drums, then add bass, guitar and keyboard sounds with my keyboard. I started doing a couple of drum tracks and then realized this was going to be harder than I thought. I released it as an incomplete album which was a mistake on my part. A couple of years later, I rewrote all the songs, and it sound better. 

Lights All Around Me started with me writing lyrics first then trying to write music to the lyrics. I was able to write the music and then I tried to sing a couple of songs. When I heard the results, I decided to release it as an instrumental album instead.
